So I have a newish game plan that I've been toying with for a year. I'm going to release in serialized format for a while. Not sure yet if I'll go with Radish or Kindle Vella or any of the other serial sites that pepper the App Store.
I am currently running through the final edits on Avalanche and planning to start releasing that by the end of the year. When I get closer to done, I'll come to the decision on where to release that, but for now I'm just editing hard and working to get this project done.
I came to a realization a few weeks ago that I need to focus on stand alone books. I love series and I keep planning and starting on large projects, but when the time comes to write book two, all my motivation and inspiration is gone. Something about the way my brain works needs me to jump around to different projects so that's what I'm going to focus on. And with that realization came a better sense of serials. I'm going to release my stand alone stories in serialized format and if I am ever able to knock out a series of books, I will release them as such.
Right now I am really excited about releasing serials. I've been reading a lot of them lately and I feel like there is a strong market for the kinds of stuff I write. I'll keep you updated on what I do and where I go next, but that is the path I'm on at the moment.
