The Return of the Husband

I began writing book one in the Corsaw series last week, and I really can't complain about my progress. I'm nowhere near where I wanted to be, but life is intruding, so it is what it is.

My husband is due home from deployment this week, and my son and I are over the moon. Unfortunately, that means that I have to commit to scrubbing my house from top to bottom so that my husband doesn't realize that I tend to let housework get away from me when he isn't around to impress.

My name is Valerie, and I am a slob.

I spent last week deep cleaning each room, and now these final days are packed full of recleaning everything so that it's just right. I also ordered a bunch of rugs for some reason, so I have to get them situated. I'm stressing. I'm losing my mind. School will also be rough this month, so add that to the pile of crapola.

UG.

I didn't write this morning because classes started and piled up quickly. I didn't write this weekend either. I've decided it's fine. This life belongs to me, and I make the rules. I'm not giving up on this book at all and am, in fact, happy with what is going on thus far. I doubt this week will be very productive as my whole life gets flipped upside down, but I'm accepting it. Deployments always throw things out of whack when they begin and end, but I've grown accustomed to it over the years.

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July and are enjoying the summer thus far!
